Cheongpung

Cheongpyeong or Cheongpung (not sure what the correct spelling would be)- a few minutes from Jecheon. A beautiful view, clean air, tranquility, comfy cute little house- what else can you ask for when you want to relax.

I didn't bungee jump but this one is supposed to be Korea's highest bungee jump platform.

Happy Wedding day... Korean style

Happy Wedding day

JC and Heather's wedding (Jincheol and Eunkyung) was super cute. They got married this past weekend (May 15th) in Heather's Home town in Jecheon. Jecheon, Korea is about 2 hours from Seoul, Korea and maybe 1 and 1/2 from Suwon, Korea. Here are some pictures of the wedding. Aren't they a good looking couple...

My experience-
Korean wedding are different from American and Latin American weddings. From what I understand, weddings are more so like a hassle for friends and family. Like, they just want to get it over with. The way I have experienced it is like this- The ceremony followed by food. The food is buffet style and after the guest eat they leave. (I think they literally just leave- there isn't a toast or anything like that or cake) From what I experienced, the food is in the same facility as the ceremony and like I mentioned before it's buffet style. ummmm... what else... oh yeah, the gift is always simply money. The amount you give all depends on the relationship. If you barely know the person, you give the couple 40,000 KRW (about 39 USD) and if you're good friends, you would give them around 100,000 KRW (about 96 USD). (PS: I Like this money gift thing better- what's worst then getting a gift you HAVE to keep?) The bride and groom also change into different outfits about 4 times during the whole day. I was able to witness the introduction of the groom's family to the bride... and the trowing of the - i think rice cakes... which are supposed to be babies... anyways enjoy the pics ask questions...

Packing for a 1 year stay in Korea

What to pack when traveling to Korea?

This is what I think...

1. Deodorant - expensive

2. Towels- Usually very small here

3. If you have big feet, bring your own shoes... lucky I have small feet. *^^* (big in Korea is usually anything larger than a size 8 in the US)

4. Seasoning- If you plan to cook bring your own, but honestly for one person it's cheaper to just eat out. Beef is expensive in Korea and so are some vegetables. I have lots to say about Korean food... stay tuned

5. Candles- Sometimes it's just smelly and the candles here are either tooo expensive or don't work as well as my favorite Bath and Body Candles..

6. Your Laptop- Download Skype (but don't worry if you don't have a computer... Korea has cool PC bongs... more to come about that too)

7. make up- Foundation/ powder for darker tones. But, I personally love Korean BB cream. (I've tried a couple of different ones...<Skin Food and Etude House> Thus, far I like Banila co's "let me bebe (sheer)." I'll talk more about make up later... If you know me, you know I love make up!!!! and Korea has a ton of make up places... sight

8. If you have a specific brand of something you like just bring it. There are many things you can get in Korea b/c it's very westernized but who knows how much it is or if you will find it.

9. Any cute room decorations you make like or family pictures. Make your place look cute!

10. If you can't shop at Forever 21, then you should probably bring enough clothes to last you a year. But if do fit Forever 21, don't worry!! Clothes are super cheap here. Don't forget your thick winter coat~ it gets really cold here.

I felt like including my little wish list of things I like from the U.S. :

1. My favorite cereal- Raisin Brand
2. My favorite lotion- Bath and Body works lotion ~Tahiti Sweetie

3. My favorite candle - Bath and Body works ~Pineapple Orchid

4. Betsey Johnson Jewelry - It's too cute and they don't sell it in Korea.

Anyways, if you have any questions leave a msg below...

In a world... random Saturday

In a world where we don't know where we fit; we must make the best of our lives. I hope to find that which I'm passionate about. God, I ask you to please help me find this hidden passion. I like toooo many things and just can't make up my mind...
In the mean time, I guess I'll just live life as it comes...

In a city where everything is identical to each other, it's hard to remember or see the hidden treasures. Hwaseong Fortress has a certain breath taking element about it. The landscape is truly beautiful and honestly what you see is not what you expect. Here are some shots with my OLD OLD camera... I hope to buy a new one soon... cross my fingers.
enjoy,
besitos
